Barbra Streisand Releases Statement After Backlash For Michael Jackson Molestation Comments

Barbra Streisand is on the receiving end of a major backlash after an interview with the Times London sparked outrage. During the interview, Streisand addressed the recent allegations against Michael Jackson that accused him of sexually abusing his child friends Jimmy Safechuck and Wade Robson. Both men are from Australia and had a special friendship with Jackson and stated in the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland they spent many nights sleeping in Michael Jackson’s bed.

Though they had previously denied any abuse or molestation had occurred, they have come forward as adults to say that they lied and Michael Jackson has allegedly molested them.

Streisand stirred controversy when she stated the following about Michael Jackson’s relationship with the accusers and their claims of abuse.

“His sexual needs were his sexual needs coming from whatever childhood he has or DNA he has. You can say molested, but those children as you heard them say [meaning Jimmy Safechuck and Wade Robson], they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children so it didn’t kill them.”

Following the backlash, Barbra Streisand released a statement to the Associated Press where she explained she has nothing but sympathy for the victims.

“To be crystal clear, there is no situation or circumstance where it is OK for the innocence of children to be taken advantage of by anyone.”

The damage may already be done as not many people are talking about her statement but rather her remarks during the interview.

Barbra Streisand began trending shortly after the interview went public and it’s clear that people aren’t happy or in agreement with her statements.

Many people are reading the words she spoke as if she was describing Michael Jackson as having a sexual need that needed to be satisfied. Choosing the word “thrilled” to describe Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck isn’t helping Streisand any.

People are now talking about the Streisand pedophile effect and some are questioning if her original remarks weren’t an attempt at justifying pedophilia.

Will this be the STREISAND EFFECT for pedophilia?

She doesnt say #MichaelJacksonInnocent

She says it was "HIS need" &
these children were "THRILLED" to be molested

What do you think of Barbra Streisand’s statement? Do you think it’s enough? Do you think Barbra Streisand was giving a justification for pedophilia?
